How Earth is healing because of lockdown

How Earth is healing because of lockdown

How earth is healing because of lockdown, positive effects of lockdown on environment,

According to Carbonbrief organization the carbon emission has been reduced to 25% from usual emission in four weeks before 30th of march in China.[3]

Nowadays a pandemic is spreading terror all over the world. Till now almost every country has been affected by this and in United States the situation is getting critical day by day[2]. It seems like corona virus is a humanity destroyer but there are also some positive effects.

China is one of the largest product-making country and has a large export-import business all over the world. Thus there are many big factories and the wastes, like harmful acids, pollute environment and due to the carbon emissions the atmosphere gets polluted. Due to the critical situation, China had to issue a lockdown and almost all the factories had been closed, which led to drop in carbon emission and other pollutants source.[3]

Most of the factories use coal as a fuel to generate energy which produce harmful gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide but during Chinese New year in winter there are 10 days holidays for everyone.  Almost all factories are closed and everyone is in their home or somewhere else where they can enjoy. The factories, shops and other things being closed the coal-fired power generation dropped on an average of 50% in 10 days of holidays. To control the outbreak pandemic of corona virus China has had lockdown and everything has stopped.[3] According  to an analysis by a scientist from Stanford University, the lockdown in China which led to the drop in air pollution, saved 10 thousands lives from air born diseases which spreads from factories and vehicles. [4]

Two months of lockdown in China  “likely has saved the lives of 4,000 kids under 5 and 73,000 adults over 70 in China,” according to G-feed, a blog which is being maintained by a group of seven scientists who are working on environment, global food, economic dynamic.[4]

Thousands of deaths happen all over the world every year because of air pollution. Since almost every country is in lockdown and not producing harmful pollutants the air is cleaning day by day. [4]

According to India TV, air and water are getting cleansed. Air quality index (air quality index is the value of the condition of air) is improving. Ganga, which is the longest river in India is sparkling in sunlight because the water has less pollutants. The sources of pollutants were the factories and sewage. Because of the lockdown across the whole country, almost every factories are closed. Thus, it resulted in the reduction of water pollution.

Himalaya, Himalaya from Punjab, spotting Himalaya from Punjab due to less air pollution

Himalayas, the very famous young fold mountain in India, is visible from the many districts of Punjab due to the less air pollution. Thus we can say that earth is healing. We can call it a miracle, isn't it?[7]

Yamuna, pollution difference in yamuna, dirty yamuna and clean yamuna, yamuna cleaned because of lockdown

Another important Indian river is the Yamuna is not clean from toxic substances due to human or anthropogenic activities like bathing in the river, washings clothes in the river and chemical wastes from industries drained into the river. During the lockdown, water life in the Yamuna river is recovering itself which was endangered. These changes are temporary because after lockdown the unhealthy practices which affect the environment will start over once again.[7]

Due to lockdown measures, people are staying in their houses and it prevents from unnecessary noise which means noise pollution has reduced and because of this there is about one-third drop in seismic noise which vibrates earth's crust. So, now Earth is less vibrating.[7]

Due to the lockdown, all restaurants are closed and the demand of seafood has also reduced which is resulting marine creatures to recover its population [8]

A news is getting viral in social media that ozone layer is healing due to lockdown.
Is that true?

This news is neither completely wrong neither completely true.

"Earth's environment is healing itself due to lockdown" Recently this news has been getting viral on social media but some added a new point about ozone layer that it is healing because of lockdown. But India Today has busted this myth. According to the India Today anti fake news war room (AFWA) the healing of ozone layer hole has nothing to do with lockdown. This healing process has been taking place for a long time before lockdown. It is healing because of unusual strong and long lived polar vortex, the cold winds brought by high altitude currents to the polar regions. The healing process of lockdown is not even related with the change in air quality. [6][1]

P.S.  People are believing in the rumours because human mind is more attracted to the good news. These rumours generally spread by Facebook, Instagram and YouTuber and Whatsapp.
